Hey,

I searched for my business’ new website name, and the only result that appeared on Google was this:

mydomain.com>author>wordpress-username

Where does this page come from and why does it appear? It’s not a page of my website.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Author pages are built into WordPress. They can be disabled: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/disable-author-archives/

Thanks, I installed the plugin.
However, the link still appears in the search results, it just shows that the page doesn’t exist when I click it.

Why does this page exist and rank in the first place and why doesn’t my home page appear instead?

It will take a while (a couple of weeks, probabaly) before Google removes the page from search results. As to the whys of your home page, that’s an SEO question best answered by SEO experts.
