It appears that when someone signs up as a mail poet subscriber, they are also signed up as a word press user. How can I turn of this “feature”? I know I can disable word press sign ups in the dashboard but there are other forms for users to request a wordpress account. So in short I want the mail poet sign up to only add the info to the subscribers list in mail poet and NOT make them a wordpress user.

I am working on this site for a client and she is getting very annoyed at this “feature” so any help disabling it will be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi there @designbysue,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Can you please clarify if you refer to the WordPress Users list in MailPoet > Lists?

If so, you can disable it by following these steps: https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/133-the-wordpress-users-list#disable-wordpress-list

Hope it helps, please let us know if you need further assistance!

I don’t know how to say it better but will try. For some reason on this website (loxalucieheadwaters.org) when someone signs up for a newsletter (mailpoet) subscription their info shows up in the mailpoet subscribers list (I want this) but also show up as subscribers in the WordPress users list (Users> All Users). I have another website where I use mailpoet and this does not happen. Thank you for you link – I have read through this but an not understanding what part of this answers my question. It is so puzzling to me (and my client is upset by this – even though I told her to simply disregard it) I don’ know why the 2 sites are acting differently and have not gotten myself totally confused by it.

    Hi there @designbysue,

Thanks for getting back to us!

Can you please check if the subscription form used on loxalucieheadwaters.org was created with MailPoet or was created with a third-party plugin and then integrated with MailPoet?

Also, do you see your subscribers in wp-admin > Users on this site?

Yes – you may be on to something, it is a gravity form. Could that be the issue? Or is this a “feature” of mail post – should not be because my other site does not work this way?

“Also, do you see your subscribers in wp-admin > Users on this site?”
Yes that is what I am trying to avoid – having them appear in this users list.

    Hi there @designbysue,

In this case, I think it’s your form creating WordPress users for everyone who fills it in and MailPoet creates the corresponding subscribers based on it.

Can you please check that in your Gravity Form settings?
