WordPress Version 2.3.3 gives me error

    Hi,

    I recently upgraded by wordpress website version to 2.3.3 just few days ago.Every time i wants to delete a page or add/delete a category it gives me error message-
    ————————————————-
    Forbidden
    You don’t have permission to access /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php on this server.

    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
    Apache/1.3.41 Server at http://www.rahulpandey.in Port 80
    ———————————————–

    Please let me know how to resolve this problem.

    What are the ‘permissions’ on the /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php file?

    See this doc for how to check for that, and how to change it (if this is the issue):

    Thanks for your reply! I changed all files permission to 777 but it is still giving the same error.

    Did you actually LOOK at the /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php file in particular?

    Also, 777 is overkill. PHP file permissions generally should be 644.

    Hi Guys!

    I am still waiting for your inputs for my problem.
    I have two options now –

    1) Either i open a new thread for the same problem.

    OR

    2) I remove wordpress from my website.

    Please let me know your views ASAP.

    This seems like a problem with your server, not a WordPress problem. A “Forbidden” error is not something WordPress is capable of returning by default. It’s a server issue.

    Are you running mod_security or anything else that could be interfering or preventing your site from accessing the admin-ajax.php file?

    Oh, and if you want to remove WordPress from your site, then do so. We don’t care what you do, we have no gain or loss from you using or not using this free product. It’s your site, do whatever the heck you want.
