wordpress version 4.5.2 upgrade and plugin updates

    I have 2 problems:

    First: currently I am running Version 4.4.2. On my many attempts to upgrade to 4.5.2. I encounter this message ” An Automated WordPress has failed to complete -Please attempt the update again now”.

    Secondly: All Plugin updates failed with message: e.g
    ” Warning: unlink(/tmp/pdf-embedder.2.5.5oca700tmp: No such file or
    directory in /home/tampines/public_html/wp-admin/includes/file.php
    on line 481″

    ” An error occurred while updating PDF Embedder: Download failed. Could not handle for fopen() to /tmp/pdf-embedder.2.5.5-oca700tmp”
