I am using this brilliant plugin to create a searchable table for dog and cat foods. I have ingredients listed in one cell, and, of course, that cell is HUGE, throwing off my spacing.

I have tried using the CSS code to keep the column narrow, but that makes it long, spreading out my table even more.

I’ve moved that column to the end of the table and making it really wide, but it only seems to go so far, still throwing my spacing off.

Hiding that column keeps my table looking nice, but those ingredients are not read in the search function.

Is there a way to make the column narrow but have it hide the text? Would be great if you could tap on the cell and have it expand out so you can see all of the ingredients. Can the column be hidden but still searchable?

Many thanks for this plugin, it is going to make one part of our jobs so much easier.

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

Unfortunately, your link is only giving me a 404 “Not found” error, so that I can not directly check this.

Your best choice might be to use something like the expansion that is done in the table on https://www.poorpigs.de/baseball/teamroster/saison-2017/.
To do that in TablePress, please follow the instructions from https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/how-to-expand-tablepress-row/

Thanks you. The link was still set to private, but should work now. I will play with this extension and see if that does what I’m looking for.

I installed the extension, and it worked, and was just what I was looking for. The rows were perfectly aligned, the ingredients could be searched, and clicking on the plus sign it brought up the ingredient list.

But it only worked once. I added some text above the table, and then every time I went back to the page, it lost all sorting functionality (no arrows in headers), I can not scroll to the right, the rows are still widely separated (I’m assuming because the plugin not hiding that last column, but I cannot scroll right to check_ and the green plus sign now does not bring up that cell info.

    Hi,

good to hear that this helped!

The cause for why it stopped working is the column number in your configuration. You only have 20 columns, so that you can not use 21 as the column number there.
