Fortunately, I was able to downgrade to version 3.59.12 without losing galleries, albums, and so on.
The old version didn’t always work flawlessly, but it was always much better than the new version 4.
You’d expect a better plugin for that price.
@imagely, what are you going to do to improve this?
They obviously aren’t going to fix anything so this is no pretty much a dead plugin. Does anyone have any recommendations on what plugin to use instead?
Wonder how long this thread will last before it gets deleted??
As I rely on a connection with Lightroom there are only a few options left (Foo and Meow).
Nextgen (Imagely) is still the best choice regarding all options and possibilities. Let alone the amount of work to convert my sites (and 3000 galleries) although I still not know how to manually convert my sites towards 4.x. As for now, I hope and think they are doing their best at Imagely to cope with all issues.
Hey all! @theodelaruelle @defensiefotografie @macsuibhne
Thanks for the feedback here.
I completely understand the frustration around changes to how galleries and albums are managed with the latest update to Imagely.
While some features or workflows were deprecated with the latest update, we realize that some users would like to see these brought back so I’ve logged your feedback here in our feature requests list.
Additionally, if you need to access deprecated settings or features you can follow the below steps. This will also keep you from having to keep an outdated plugin on your site for security purposes:
- First, log into your WordPress dashboard
- Next, paste this query string to the end of your website URL then press enter: /wp-admin/admin.php?page=imagely-settings&tab=hidden
- Your URL should look something like this: https://www.mywebsite.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=imagely-settings&tab=hidden
- In case you’d like to enable access to the Legacy version of Imagely you’ll just need to toggle this button then refresh the page: https://a.supportally.com/i/wfvnnH
Please keep in mind though that these are deprecated Legacy settings so our team will only be able to provide limited support for any issues that may come up if using these settings.
This is really useful insight! It’s always helpful to get feedback from our users as we continue to plan out future updates.
Thanks!

Thanks for your message, but I can’t do anything with this. What other hidden or deprecated options do I have with this solution? I couldn’t find it.
In the meantime, I can no longer do a number of things that were possible in the old version or at least a lot simpler.
For example:
How can I move photos from one gallery to another? I can select them and then click ‘Move to’. Then a window opens with all my galleries, but I have 751 galleries! I have to scroll through them all before I find the right one. There isn’t even a search option!
Second example:
I want to move a gallery to an album. That option isn’t even available. Previously, you could just drag and drop them, but that’s no longer possible in this new version. So how can I add a gallery to an album?
And there are many more examples of why this is a worthless upgrade. It’s more like a downgrade. Such a shame. And you dare to charge so much for it!
I’ll just go back to the old version until you have a decent solution that matches the features of the previous version.

Hi @theodelaruelle,
I apologize for the delayed reply and I understand your frustration here.
As far as I know, the issue with Pro Mosaic has been successfully resolved in the latest plugin update. Please let me know if the reported issue with Mosaic has been resolved for you.
To clarify, you can enable all of the legacy settings and manage your galleries and albums in the old way through your site’s “Admin > NextGEN Gallery” menu, as mentioned by Will.
Thank you for sharing your concerns about the difficulty in searching within the gallery picker for copying or moving images, especially on sites with many galleries. I’ve submitted a feature request to include a search function for the “copy/move Images to Gallery” option.
To add galleries to your album using the new UI:
- Access “Imagely > Albums.”
- Create or edit the needed album.
- Click “Add Item” to open the gallery selection popup.
- Select the galleries you wish to add and click the “Add items” button.
The changes are saved automatically, allowing you to add the necessary galleries to your active album.
Let me know if there’s anything else I can help with.
Thanks!
My workflow was severely impacted after this update. Happy for the hidden ‘fix’.
Just wondering if the devs actually use the software themselves rather than just tinkering with it.
Thanks for starting this thread @theodelaruelle
This hidden settings area has not done anything for me. I cannot sort galleries inside an album that has say 100 galleries, how does one move a gallery from page 5 in the album to page one of the album???? I need a solution asap. Thanks
