Would partially translated WP work?

    Hello Community,
    I’m trying to localize WP to my language and unfortunately the language is not in the official list (as very few people use it).
    If i translate only certain words and sentences and leave others intact in English, would this work? I don’t need the warning and notifications be translated but basic things such as time and minutes etc.
