• Hi

I’m creating an affiliate marketing website where I will be listing numerous voucher codes for items such as hotels, shows and tours.

I have two queries that i’m hoping someone can help me with if possible:

    1) What function / app would be best used to store numerous voucher code entries? I would be entering a few codes daily and the typical information would be eg Hotel Name / Discount / Code / Link / Expiry Date / Short Description. Would I input these as blog entries or is there some sort of database function that I could use to manage them? I would also like the ability to add a photo and the for the visitor to be able to search for deals based on the expiry date

    2) I would like only certain offers to be visible to non-members. ie If a search returned 10 results I would like the possibility to make some of the ‘better’ offers only visible to members (who would need to sign up). The key information eg the Voucher Code and Link would be greyed out or blank until the members signs up. Is it possible for a page to have both member only and non-member content.

I’m more concerned about whether these functions are possible rather than a really detailed answer

    Thank you

    Ryan

  • Both of those are definately possible, and there’s a few ways of implementing them.

I’d suggest looking at creating a custom post type for the vouchers. That way you can control what info is recorded and how they are displayed. It will also keep things separate in your admin area.
