WOW! Worked first time. One small problem…
-
My localhost, MAMP for Windows, uses a newer MySQL than Hostgator does on its shared Unix hosting. Database collation problems caused me 3 days of headaches and I never was able to migrate the site. By luck (and three days of intense online research) I found this plugin.
Easy Steps:
1. Install the plugin in the localhost WP site.
2. Export the file.
3. Setup a basic WP install on the host server.
4. Install the plugin in the server WP site.
5. Import the file and save Permalinks TWICE.I *do* have a PROBLEM though. My links all point back to my LOCALHOST, on my local PC. I’ll post an inquiry in the Support forum.
