    Hi,

I occasionally had problems with receiving emails from this plug-in but now I am not receiving any. I have tried several email addresses with no success. I had to upload a file into the back end to access my site again. Is this a known issue? If so, can anyone recommend another plug-in that sends the authentication code by email? I do not use a cellphone.

    Thanks,

    stephen

Thank you for trying our plugin @auctionsavvy

I am sorry to read about your issues. More often than not, when users do not receive an email from our plugin there is an email deliverability issue. So far we’ve never had an issue where our plugin was the problem.

Can you please answer the below question to help us troubleshoot the issue?

    1) Do you use the “standard” WordPress email mechanism or are you using a third party service, SMTP plugin or something similar?

    2) Do you know if something has changed on the website, such as a plugin update, right before you stopped receiving emails?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Hi Robert,

    1. As far as I know I am using a standard WordPress email mechanism. And for the past few years I have not had a problem with the plug-in.
    2. Recent change included updating WordPress and updating WooCommerce (without the Genesis Connect plug-in being updated – I had a warning message). Other than that no changes.

I asked by host provider to install a backup for my website from 2 weeks ago. I will let you know if the plug-in was working prior to the WordPress and WooCommerce updates.

    Thanks,

    Stephen

    Hi Robert,

As soon as I installed the WordPress update the authentication plug-in failed to send me the email notification. If I go back to the prior version of WordPress, the plug-in works.

    Hello @auctionsavvy

Can you please do an email test? Can you please:

    1) Install this plugin: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/check-email/
    2) Run an email test

Please let us know if that works on the setup in which you were not receiving emails from our plugin.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Hi Robert,

After the back-up was restored the WP 2FA Plugin worked again. As you requested, I updated WP to the new version. The https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/check-email/ correctly sends email. The WP 2FA Plugin is not sending emails.

I won’t revert to the prior WP version in the event you want me to run another test…

    Hi @auctionsavvy

Thanks for letting us know. Iv been testing WP 2FA emails with WP 5.7 and in all cases im getting the emails fine (when setting up the method, when changing my email address and also when logging in) so id like to take a closer look to see whats causing the problem here.

Please drop me an email via [email protected] and we can discuss this further.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Kind regards.

    Hi,

I finally had success with the WP 2FA Plugin after downgrading the WordPress version and then reinstalling the latest version. All is good!
