Images stopped loading into the metaslider after updating to 5.2.1.
This is also happening in my WP Logo Showcase Responsive Slider.
I rolled back to 5.2, so all is well for the moment. I read this:
“Guys this is because Google pulled jQuery 1.2.4, as stated on this link
    https://developers.google.com/speed/libraries/#jquery”
but not sure how that helps.
    Thank you for any insight.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @randallscottholbrook

Edited my message as I misread your original message! I’ll reply in a minute.

    Hi @randallscottholbrook

I originally thought you upgraded from MetaSlider 3.13 to 3.13.1 so I misunderstood the situation. Apologies.

That said, I’m not sure I can help unless you can update and let me see how it looks broken. I develop on 5.2 and we haven’t had any other complaints.

Maybe another plugin is manipulating how jQuery is loaded in?

I am sorry, I thought I had written “updating to WP 5.2.1” my bad.
I was thinking that maybe the Jetpack image accelerator could be the culprit, but images outside of the sliders seem to load ok. I can’t run the update again for a while as I have a client looking at photoshoot results. Once that is done I will run the update and drop you a note here. Thank you.

    Hi @randallscottholbrook

You did. Anyway, it probably is JetPack at play here. You can possibly remedy this by adding this to your functions.php file or where ever your theme lets you add php functions.

Let me know if that helps.

OK, cool. So it is a thing. Thank you

    Hi @randallscottholbrook

Yes, it’s an issue with JetPack. The fix should work but since it doesn’t happen to every user I decided (for the time being) that it’s better to not disable it completely but instead just provide a filter for users to add if needed.

Let me know if it doesn’t work.

    Hi @randallscottholbrook

I’ll close this issue as we didn’t hear back, but feel free to follow up or open a new issues as needed. Thanks!
