Just would like to throw this out there. I have been doing some research based on SEO and wp-admin. The general consensus is now that all pages should be allowed on google and with recent changes with WordPress 4.4 headers have been placed to de-index the wp-admin. However, that said, I do see that wp-admin is still in the xml sitemaps generated by yoast.

So in essence, when we submit the sitemap to google we are telling google “Hey look at this page! (wp-admin)” but then when google goes to it and sees its being blocked, it would go “Wait a minute, I’m not supposed to see this” so it throws an error.

Is there something I’m missing here and is there any solution to manually remove wp-admin from the sitemap with Yoast’s sitemap generator?

I don’t want to resort to changing the code as things might break with updates.

    Thanks
