• I know I should post this in the relevant theme providers forum, but it’s paid support only!

I updated the Despacho theme from 1.1.5 to 1.1.6, there were some ftp errors (I’ve got screen shots of the errors, if anyone wants to see them) when copying over the theme folder and over writing the old one. I did make a zip archive of the old theme folder. I cannot access my site at all now (blank web page).

I tried to unzip the backup and over wrote the updated one, but I still get a blank web page.

I’m considering installing a fresh version of WordPress and updraft backup plugin, and doing a complete restore from backup of the themes, plugins, database etc.

I’d like to know if there’s anything I need to know before doing this, like:

    1) Are plugin settings retained inside the backups?
    2) Is there any way of repairing the despacho theme ‘wp-content/theme/despacho’ folder (as that is all that has been changed to allow the site to ‘break’
    3) What do the error messages in my FTP client mean?

I don’t seem to be able to post pictures of the FTP errors, but I could send them to anyone who requests them.

  • Hello,
Without seeing the error it difficult to give the answer.
Do you check your site without this theme ? Does it working without this theme.
If your site run then problem is in the theme.
Then you have to dig in deep.
In that case let me show the error screenshot.
Just host the image in your dropbox or any image hosting site and send
    the link of the image.

I can’t get into WordPress admin to change the theme! I’ve deleted it in my FTP client, and it makes no difference (unsurprisingly). I’ve added the error codes at this URL:

    https://www.dropbox.com/sh/d6ur7m2osr13neg/AADJmMd2SkW7XJ74DQcS6fYva?dl=0

I don’t know how you’re going to get access, as I don’t know your email address to add it.

@tirnaelectronics: Sorry to butt in on your topic here, but please do not offer to give the volunteers here access to your site. The Internet is a cool place but not everyone you’ll meet there is a cool person.

I’m sharing 1 dropbox folder, I’m not giving him access to my own website!

Good. Your post could be read in a couple of different ways and I wanted to make sure that the forum rules were being followed.

@themesgrove Sorry, I didn’t use your handle, if your still wanting to help the dropbox link is in the topic post.

    Hello,
Its seems there are some for your plugins. Try to delete Yit-freamework plugin and woocommerce . then reupload your theme and extract.

Sorry for the late. I was busy in office and forgot to check forum and mail. Its was my fault.
    I apologize for that.
Please try one more time to that what I said above.
    Thanks.

@themesgrove Ok, I can get back in now. However, I enabled maintenance mode while I worked on the site so only admin users could get onto it. When I try to login I get the ‘under maintenance mode, please try again later’ message. I assumed the only login I’ve ever used had administrator rights, but it appears not to and I can’t get logged in anymore!
