If you have FTP access, may make sense to upload a fresh copy of WordPress from http://ww.wp.xz.cn/latest.zip

    HI Kadar9,

Before you upload WordPress manually using FTP, make sure you have a backup of the wp-content directory and make sure you do not overwrite such directory.

    Good luck with the upgrade.

This article can give you an idea. It is written for a new installation, so don’t follow it exactly.

Basically, you’ll need a FTP client (search Google Filezilla for my preference) and an FTP account for your site (your hosting provider can help you if you don’t have that information).

When you access your server, you’ll likely see a public_html or similarly named folder. Inside there, you’ll most likely seeing the WordPress files.

After downloading and unzipping the WordPress download, you can use the FTP client to upload the files. Per Johnb81’s wise suggestion, do not upload the /wp-content/ folder.

    Hope that helps!
