    Great plugin just what I was looking for! (made a small donation)

    Quick query … I’d like to hide the black WP top admin bar that has About WordPress, Home page icon, +New etc except for the Howdy, Name (profile and logout). So far all I’ve managed to do is hide the whole thing which then just showed me a link to Home page on top left, and their email and logout link on top right. Would you mind telling me what I’m doing wrong as getting confused as to which ones to deactivate or not. It’s just for one type of user (a project manager that’s part of project management plugin)

    Thanks

    If you will hide this with the plugin, use the options in the Admin Bar, you can remove this part of the Admin bar with this option for different roles. On a default install it is the item “Menu Group”, slug (menu-toggle).

    Thanks I had ticked that one previously but then it removed all items from the admin bar including the Howdy, Name (my account) which is the part I want to keep. I think this is the wp-admin-bar-my-account according to Firefox Inspector.

    However I don’t want all the rest of the items in the admin bar which are:

    wp-admin-bar-site
    wp-admin-bar-name
    wp-admin-bar-comments
    wp-admin-bar-new-content
    wp-admin-bar-cf7-style (this is a plugin to style contact form 7 plugin)

    Thanks for your guidance

    Hi.
    In the last time I see a lot of issues in this topic from the support of multiple roles. Currently the last stable version don’t support multiple roles to hide Admin Bar items.
    But, the next release is on development and will fixed this issue.

    Please, download and test this version.

    Hi Frank

    Apologies for delay I haven’t been well but ok now.

    I deleted the original plugin files and loaded this new one but still can’t work out how to only show the profile and logout at top of screen in WP admin bar. At the moment the admin bar just shows the black bar with nothing in it. There is no edit profile or logout options.

    I definitely haven’t deactivated the Admin Bar Front end Options.

    I’ve deactivated all the Admin Bar end options except for the project plugin links the user needs (which show fine). I’ve also unticked the following but they still don’t appear:

    – No Title!
    – TEMIConnect
    – Edit My Profile
    – Log Out
    * Menu Group
    – Howdy, TEMIConnect

    Any advice is appreciated thanks.

    The logout, Profile link in the admin bar are two items in the admin bar item list. You should leave not check for the items

    * Menu Group (menu-toggle)
    * No Title! Group (top-secondary)

    I mention only the group items, but you should also leave the sub items of this groups.

    Here you see a example: https://www.diigo.com/item/image/1j30r/50ur
    It works as example for the second role “Area Rep”. This role have only the login and profile active, all other items of the admin bar are inactive.

    best.
