WP-cli improvements

Hi,

I have been struggling to get WP-cli working for couple of days now. It looks like we are missing a diagnostics module that can collect information on the specific problem and put it to a log file so that it can be looked at by the experts. wp –info is very short and did not help for me at all. This is not a specific help request, I will create another topic for it.
1) Do we have such a tool/module?
2) Is there any intention to create one?

I have some programming experience with limited time and willing to help. Please point me to the correct forum/person so that we can create a better solution.
