• Hi i don’t know what help i can be as i am having some diffculties myself. Mostly with the wp-config.php file. So i think you are ahead of me in the download/installation process.

I have followed the help/support forums to the best of my ability.

I know that i needed to rename the wp-config-sample.php to wp-config.php which then allowed to to view and read the WordPress ReadMe html file (which i opened with Internet Explorer).

I am also using MySQL. More specifically MySQL Workbench 5.2 CE

I have tried some of the scripting but to no avail.

My FTP is FileZilla – which has given me some ‘positive’ responses – but unfortunately all resulting in being unable to connect. Even though i know its pointing in roughly the right direction.

Just thought i’d leave you a reply in the hope that two heads are better than one. (‘You scratch my back and i’ll scratch yours’ – sort of thing.

One other thing, my domain/website hosting is with 000webhost.com (for future reference).

I am a complete novice and i suppose getting to grips with it all by trial and error.

Any help is much appreciated. Kind regards (and thank you in advance).

Hi guys im having some issues again (sorry).

    My site is http://www.enigmatrix.org.uk

And i’ve uploaded the .zip file to the public_html folder with net2ftp powered by 000webhost.com (which is my hosting provider).

Answers on a post card please…

Did you get this resolved? Or is this still the same issue? Don’t know what you mean by “postcard”??

I think so. Although… my ‘public_html’ file has a folder called ‘wordpress’ and inside the ‘wordpress’ folder was all the .php files and .html index stuff. I thought i might have needed to extract all the files from the ‘wordpress’ folder and put them into the ‘public_html’ folder… and then deleted what would be the now empty ‘wordpress’ folder (if you catch my drift?)

By ‘postcard’ i meant “answers short and sweet please”…

Your site does appear to be here:
    http://enigmatrix.org.uk/wordpress/

    Does this login work? http://enigmatrix.org.uk/wordpress/wp-login.php

Are you trying to do something else?

Thank you for your reply, but if you go onto my domain http://www.enigmatrix.org.uk you will see what i mean.

There is some ‘blank’ html coding with a hyperlink folder called ‘wordpress’ which then takes you to the wordpress site i set up.

I want to remove the ‘wordpress’ folder so that when you type in my domain name into your web browser it ‘should’ direct you straight to my wordpress page.

Any help much appreciated, i know i am very nearly there.

Think i just managed to solve my own problem yet again. Or created one…

Set all target directories. public_html/wordpress into public_html folder. I was typing in public_html – but needed to instruct the FTP client to apply that rule to move ALL of the files which i had selected (ticked) and not just commanding it to apply to just one or two for some reason.

I deleted the ‘wordpress’ folder but now my domain site is seeing my wordpress site as html!

    What have i done?

.htaccess file has lost its little icon and the wlwmanifest.xml file has lost its little icon. – The ‘icons’ look like a blank sheet of white paper.
