Wp-Confirmation emails

Hi, I hope this does not sound like a silly question as I am quite new to all this.

We members register on my site, They get a sent confirmation link. However sometimes the email does not get received by the member even though it says it has been delivered. This normally happens about 3 day a month, which can be very frustrating.

If i publish a profile in my admin dashboard that has not been confirmed, the member can not log-in.

Is there a way of making a profile active via admin dashboard? So when I have these issues during the month I can publish it manually then tell the member that their account is ready to use.
