when i’m backing up my wordpress with this plugin, why does it pop up this warning:

BackUpWordPress has detected a problem. wp-cron.php is returning a Resolving host timed out: http://www.heromachinery.com response which could mean cron jobs aren’t getting fired properly. BackUpWordPress relies on wp-cron to run scheduled back ups.

Can anybody help me out here?

Thanks Paul.

After I add define( ‘ALTERNATE_WP_CRON’, true ); to wp-config.php, it does work.

But here comes the new issue, there are some unfriendly words showed in URL:

?doing_wp_cron=

How can I remove it?

Yes, that’s indeed because of the ALTERNATE_WP_CRON setting. There is no way around that, other than moving to a better host.
