WP doesn’t send email updates for new posts

For some time I’ve noticed I’m not getting an email when I publish a new post. So it’s likely that my followers aren’t either. Where can I look to solve this problem?

Also another problem is the scheduling tool doesn’t work most of the time. I usually have to go in & post manually. What can I do to solve THIS problem? It’s only worked maybe once out of 10 tries & I’m not doing anything different.
