If your forum is installed inside a sub-folder, then having the WP edition in the parent (WordPress) folder should be enough.
For instance:
/public_html/wordpress > WordPress install + NinjaFirewall WP.
/public_html/wordpress/forum > forum install.
If they are in 2 different folders, you would need the Pro edition for the forum and the WP one for WordPress.
For instance:
/public_html/wordpress > WordPress install + NinjaFirewall WP.
/public_html/forum > forum install + NinjaFirewall Pro.
If the WP edition is installed inside a sub-folder, you will need to install the WP edition first, and then the Pro in the parent (forum) folder
For instance:
/public_html/forum > forum install + NinjaFirewall Pro.
/public_html/forum/wordpress > WordPress install + NinjaFirewall WP (to be installed first).
They won’t conflict which each others.
One thing important to remember is that the Pro edition does not contain WordPress specific security rules. Thus, protecting WordPress requires the WP Edition.

if i use both pro and wp edition will it increase server load or any other performance impact in comparison to a single wp-edition firewall ?
There won’t be any difference, PHP will load either the Pro or the WP edition, depending on where they are installed and which PHP script is requested.
