Where can I get the 1.5 wp-grins? I tried installing a version some one told me about but I can’t activate it (it doesn’t show up on the plugin list)

    1) you waited an extremely long 30 minutes before bumping your post – there are others here that require help too, do you see them bumping their posts every 30 minutes?

    2) if you used the SEARCH function on this page you will be surprised at the entries you will find which are related to a) WP-Grins b) WP Grins c) WP Smilies d) WP Smileys

We can help you when you get stuck after having put the effort into doing the above and doing some of the work yourself. You get stuck, we help – you bump your post with a plead for help with out further productivity you will simply be ignored

Can’t you Google for it? I can’t imagine I am so much smarter than you are.

OK. You found the plugin, and you did the site search. The site search showed up all kinds of things that might work for you. Try them, and if they don’t, explain your problem in more detail in a reply in the most relevant of those threads.

BTW, you did copy the plugin to the wp-content/plugins folder on the webserver, didn’t you? That is where it needs to be in order to show up. If it doesn’t, the people in the other threads might be able to help you.

I got it now, i had to upload another plugin along with it for the wp-grins to show up on the plugin list.

Which other plugin, I too am not able to find the plugin in the plugins page

    http://www.alexking.org/index.php?content=software/wordpress/content.php#wp_120

It’s there, and the 1.2 version works. I just checked what I use against that zip and they are identical.

    (@injinuity)

I downloaded an old one.. podz you are a life saver..

    injinuity

    (@injinuity)

But podz, this is very confusing, I have it working on my site now… http://www.arrogantly.com/2005/06/01/all-steam-ahead-2/#comments

    But a few notes,

    1. I need a copy of the wp-grins in the root in addition to the plugins folder else my whole site will not load and gives the error …

Warning: main(wp-grins.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/i/n/j/injinuity/html/my-hacks.php on line 1

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required ‘wp-grins.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/content/i/n/j/injinuity/html/my-hacks.php on line 1

    2. When I copy the wp-grins.php to the root folder, everything is perfect.

    3. I am using the my-hacks.php and has enabled it though the new readme for ver 1.2 doesn’t mention anything about it.

Not sure why you are using a my-hacks ?
I have just the plugin used.

    injinuity

    (@injinuity)

without the my-hacks.php file I am getting the foll error

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: wp_grins() in /home/content/i/n/j/injinuity/html/wp-content/themes/jinu/comments.php on line 63

with the my-hacks.php, no error and no problems… absolutely perfect .. maybe thats why so many ppl are having probs with it… I cant pinpoint why I cant use it without a my-hacks.php
