Wp is pounding my database server.
-
I have shared hosting and I have been running 26 blogs using the wp robot plugin. I also had each blog loaded up with around 20 plugins.
all was fine until two days ago. My hosting company turned off my sites as it was causing 90% of the load. So I went into each blog and only kept 9 plugins out of the 20. I asked the host to test it again and they said it was still causing a load and they could not host it on shared hosting. I don’t have the money at this time for more expensive hosting. I asked them to revert back to an older back up of the databse from 03/08/2010. They said they could not. I am not a guru on WP or hosting, but my theory was that if I cut down on the plugins mainly stats press and went back to the older version of the database; that all should be well.
When you delete plugins from the the directory side, wouldn’t that stop the old tables from being executed since the plugins aren’t there to call them?
I also read that a big problem with wp is the wp-cron.php file calling almost constantly with every visitor.
Is there a way for me to get these sutomated blogs back up on shared hosting without killing their servers, and what are some good hosting companies that could handle this and would allow it?
Thanks
