WP Mail SMTP Error: Could not authenticate.

    Hi All, we are using WP Mail SMTP and are having an issue with the emails coming in to the site, currently using smtp.office365.com as the SMTP Host, Encryption TLS.

    Came across an article mentioning that I may need a new App Password as Microsoft no longer supports the regular password, but am hoping to confirm this before going further.

    Thanks for reaching out to us.

    Your hunch is correct since you are attempting to connect to the Outlook SMTP server with your normal login credentials and you specifically received the “Could not authenticate” error message.

    Please generate an app password as mentioned in our documentation.
