WP Multisite Subdirectory Custom Permalinks 404

I’m running a Multisite Subdirectory setup with the following sites.
Example.com/ (main site)
Example.com/en-us (sub site)I’m trying to achieve the following using a custom structure in the permalink settings:
Example.com/blog/postname
Example.com/en-us/blog/postnameIt works for the main site however it gives a 404 on the /en-us/ site.
I’m running the latest version, default htaccess and wp-config

Example.com/en-us/blog/postnameI just tested this on a fresh Multisite setup with just the default theme and no plugin installed… and this permalink structure worked (ie no 404 errors).
Did you remember to set the permalink structure in the sub-site as well? The main site’s permalink structure will not carry over to the subsites!
