    For quite a while (years?) I had been having great success with manually flushing the WP-Optimize cache – when needed – and then manually preloading it. Recently, I have found that things appear to work normally, initially, but the cache size, which is NOT set to auto/scheduled cache preloading, unexpectedly drops in size, and some mobile users can not access some pages or features.

    The website works well, if the WP-Optimize cache is turned off. I don’t use other caching software, either locally, or on the host’s server. I don’t believe that there have been any significant changes to anything, including add-ons, and this unusual behaviour was first noticed after WP-Optimize’s last update.

    Any suggestions, as I would like to keep this plug-in as my cache manager, but can’t keep running without a cache, as my Google site speed drops about 40+ points?

    Hi,

    Apologies, we are aware that this is an issue, we hope to have a fix very soon.

    The daily cache clearance because of the WP-Optimize created cron job (wpo_reset_webp_conversion_test_result) was reported in many posts.

    Possible temporary work around until it’s fixed could be by using WP Crontrol (or similar) plugin to pause this cron job or maybe by reverting to the previous WP-Optimize version.

    @eugene212 We’re testing this now, thank-you!
    @vupdraft thanks for the confirmation. If it’s not a silly question, does WP-Optimize have “Persistent Object Cache” functionality?

    @raulandash,

    Regarding Persistent Object Cache I think I saw a question before and the reply was that WP-Optimize has it under consideration at this point of time.

    If it helps, I was also looking for Persistent Object Cache solution (as opposed to running Redis or Memcached services) and found that SQLite Object Cache plugin works nicely in my case.

    @eugene212 so far, your workaround seems to be working well, and the cache is working as intended. Site Health is suggesting that we “clean test cache” but that seems a small price to pay, to have most of the site’s speed back. We will certainly look into SQ Lite, too. Thanks again!

    @raulandash – unfortunately WPO does not currently use object caching. We normally recommend Redis for this.
