WP Statistics look weird
-
The site is on WP Astra. The WP Statistics plugin look weird when I open the plugin. All set up and design is gone, everything is aligned along the left edge, and all formatting of the text is gone – everything is written with a tiny blue or black font. No graphs or any tables are presented, the data are given in not quite csv.-file, but similar.
The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I have purged the cache, re-installed the plugin after uninstalling it, I have also deactivated WP Rocket and reactivated it and removed minification of JS files. All without any effect.
Hi @ranveig,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, and thank you for your patience.
From what you described, it looks like the WP Statistics CSS/JS files are not loading in your dashboard. This usually happens because of:
- Cache/CDN or security rules blocking the plugin’s styles and scripts.
- Conflicts with other plugins or the theme (even if WP Rocket is off, other plugins may interfere).
- File permission issues on the server that prevent CSS/JS from being read.
Could you please help us by:
- Opening the Statistics page → press F12 → Console/Network and check if there are any errors or blocked CSS/JS files (404/403).
- Temporarily disabling all other plugins except WP Statistics to test.
- Letting us know your WordPress, PHP, and WP Statistics versions.
- Sharing a screenshot of the broken page and the console if possible.
This info will really help us identify the root cause and guide you to a fix.
Thanks again for your patience!
Best regards,
MehmetDear Mehnet, thank you for reaching out! I hope I understand your instructions, so I describe my actions in detail:
In the WP dashboard menu on the left, I open the Statistics item. When pressing the fn+F12 tkeys, a window opens. Under the Console tab a lot of red lines appear, the latter saying: “Failed to load resource: net::ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT”. I see no sign of 404/403 or any notion about CSS/JS.
I deactivated all other plugins but WP Statistics, refreshed the website and opened the Statistics again; no alteration.
I have the following versions: WP 6.8.2, PHP 8.3.20 and WP Statistics 14.15.4
In the WP dashboard there is now a message, regarding WP Statistics: “We’ve detected WP Consent API on your site. To ensure WP Statistics respects visitor consent preferences, you can enable integration with this plugin.”
Screenshots of the statistics page and the console page is attempted enclosed.
Thank you for aiming to help.Ranveig
Hi Ranveig,
Thank you for the detailed information and screenshots. From what you described, it seems the WP Statistics CSS/JS files are being blocked, most likely by a browser AdBlock/privacy extension or by your hosting firewall or security rules. It could also be a file permission or caching issue. Please try opening the Statistics page in a different browser or in a private/incognito window without any extensions to see if the styling loads correctly. If it still appears broken, check the Network tab in DevTools for any blocked or failed CSS/JS files, and you may also want to ask your hosting provider if any security rules are preventing these files from loading.
Could you let me know if the page looks correct in another browser?
Best regards,
MehmetThe page looks correct in both another browser and in an incognito window in the same browser.
Hi Ranveig,
That’s great to hear. This confirms the issue is caused by something in your main browser setup, such as an extension (often AdBlock or privacy tools) or a cached script. To resolve this permanently, you can:
- Disable extensions one by one in your main browser to identify the one blocking WP Statistics files.
- Clear the browser cache completely (not just the site cache).
- If you’d like to continue using those extensions, you can usually whitelist your WordPress dashboard URL so the CSS/JS files load correctly.
Since the plugin works fine in other browsers and incognito, the plugin itself is functioning correctly, and adjusting the browser setup should fix it.
Best regards,
MehmetHi Ranveig,

MehmetHi! I have tried to answer via email, I thought that would do? The problem is not solved.
Emptying the browser cache completely did not help. One browser extension was deleted, the others have been installed since I bought the laptop several years ago. No cure.
Could you please instruct me how to whitelist my WordPress dashboard URL so the CSS/JS files load correctly?
Can WP Rocket and “minify CSS/JS” be involved?Hi Ranveig,
Thank you for your update and detailed explanations.
Since the WP Statistics page displays correctly in another browser and in incognito mode, the issue is not with the plugin or WordPress itself. It’s caused by your main browser or one of its extensions blocking the CSS/JS files of WP Statistics.
Could you please let us know:
- Which browser you are using?
- Which extensions are installed on your browser?
This will help us guide you specifically on how to whitelist your WordPress dashboard so that the plugin displays correctly.
Once we have this information, we can give you exact steps to fix the issue.
Best regards,
MehmetThank you.
I’m using Chrome browser, and the extensions installed is
AdBlock
Adobe Acrobat: PDF-tool
All in One SEO Analyzer by AIOSEO
Google Documents Offline
F-Secure.
No recent alterations, apart from a program for scanning of broken links, which is now deleted without any effect on this problem.
Hi Ranveig,
Thank you for sharing the details, that helps a lot.
Based on the error
ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT, the CSS/JS files from WP Statistics are definitely being blocked by one of your browser extensions (most commonly AdBlock or F-Secure). That’s why the page works fine in other browsers/incognito, but not in your main Chrome setup. Here’s how you can fix it:
- Whitelist your WordPress dashboard in AdBlock
- In Chrome, click the AdBlock icon.
- Choose “Pause on this site”.
- Reload your WP Admin page to test.
- Whitelist in F-Secure (if Web Protection is active)
- Go to the whitelist/allowed sites settings in F-Secure.
- Add this pattern:
https://blaerekreftnorge.no/wp-admin/* - Save changes and restart the browser.
- Restart Chrome after applying the whitelist so the settings take effect.
- If the issue persists
- Temporarily disable all extensions in Chrome by visiting
chrome://extensions. - Then enable them back one by one while checking the Statistics page. This will help identify the exact extension causing the block.
- Temporarily disable all extensions in Chrome by visiting
Once the correct whitelist is in place, the WP Statistics page should load with full styling and charts again.
Please give this a try and let me know how it goes.
Best regards,
MehmetAt last, I found something that worked:
The problem lies in AdBlock. To pause AdBlock on this site did not work, but temporarily disable all extensions and then enable them one by one, revealed that AdBlock caused the block.
Is it possible to get around this, and keep AdBlock activated while whitelisting our website?
Hi Ranveig,
Thank you for following up and confirming that AdBlock is the cause.
In this case, the best solution is to look for a way to prevent AdBlock from blocking the WP Statistics admin files while still keeping the extension active.Since AdBlock has its own filtering and whitelisting rules, I recommend reaching out to their support team and opening a ticket. They can guide you on how to whitelist your WordPress dashboard specifically, so that the plugin’s CSS/JS files load correctly without having to disable AdBlock entirely.
This way, you can keep AdBlock active while ensuring WP Statistics displays as expected.
Best regards,
