Hey there!
Have you network activated MailPoet or activated it on a site by site basis?
Multisite isn’t technically supported in MailPoet 3 (https://beta.docs.mailpoet.com/article/189-comparison-of-mailpoet-2-and-3)
Hi Jack, it is activated on a site only. I did read that Multisite was not officially supported in MailPoet 3, but still should work…. So question is if this bug (as I guess it is) will be fixed and official support will be added in a not to far future, or if I should focus on MailPoet 2?
Hi there @alhbin!
It’s not in the immediate roadmap. Not saying it’ll never happen, but right now it’s not on the list per se, so in this case if you wish to use the plugin. I’d personally recommend sticking with version 2, though version 2 is only maintained for security and will eventually be phased out.
Thanks!
Hey @alhbin,
Yes, it’s a known issue: the total count of subscribers includes all users across a network.
We have this issue created and waiting for a resolution, but it’s not our priority right now.
I believe we’re not doing this anytime soon, unfortunately.
Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience.
Hi — as a Multisite admin, I hope you will consider disabling the auto-sync with users from the primary wp_users table. On our site, it means that 15,000+ subscribers are added on every site as soon as MailPoet is enabled.
One option would be to support something like: define(‘MP_WP_USER_SYNC’, false);
in wp-config.php Then add logic to only import users when true. This should be a fairly minor code change — no UI needed.
We’d be happy if any of our uses register for premium MailPoet on their site, but don’t want to make the plugin unusable as soon as it imports all users.
For many Multisites, there are privacy concerns when the main WP user table is available to every site in a network. This is the case for our university site.

Hey everyone, thanks for reporting your MS issues. We do care to know about them even though they are not our current priority.
