WordPress 2.6 only allows the use of default permalinks??
I changed to the default ones and it works! But I want to use my custom ones, how do I fix this?

Back to your pretty permalinks? Perhaps it’s just a matter with (re)rewriting htaccess. I had that some time ago, changed to default and back to “pretty” and all was fine.
adzeds – Depends on what you are using as the custom ones?
I have this problem too…
My permalinks were set as:
http://www.bomb.org.uk/index.php/2008/07/sample-post/
And were working perfectly this morning. Then, after update they stopped working and I’ve had to default to ‘ugly’ permalinks.
If I re-enable the pretty permalinks, they just show a ‘not found’ error.
Any ideas anyone?
Did you try rewriting your .htaccess file? Also, did you have any problem logging in? I just upgraded and now cannot login!
hey01oh, are you having the same problem we’re having with logging in? (see: http://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/189013 )
I’m having the same problem with my site after upgrade. I get errors if I keep pretty permalinks but I also get errors if I try to use the default. Has anyone found a fix for this – other than the index.php fix?
