Hi!
Thanks for your post and sorry for the trouble!
I’m not exactly sure, but the reason for this might be that both plugins now use a different version of the same JavaScript library (DataTables).
Starting with TablePress 3.0, DataTables 2.1.8 is used, whereas the wpDataTables plugin still seems to be using the older version 1.12.1. This is now probably causing a conflict. Unfortunately, I don’t know what we could do about this right now, sorry 🙁
Best wishes,
Tobias
Yeah for now I’m removing the tablepress table from the top section. Hopefully it get cleared up soon. I’ll keep testing on and off as updates happen to both plugins.
Hi,
for TablePress, I can say that I will always try using a recent version of DataTables. So, I’m not sure what I can do for better compatibility here :-/
Now, I’m not sure what you are using TablePress and wpDataTables for, but maybe you should consider switching all tables to just one of the two?
Best wishes,
Tobias
i use tablepress to allow my staff writers to create nicely formatted tables to display data.
i use wpdattables to do display tables with features that tablepress doesn’t have such as filtering and pulling data from Google sheets.
I would love to allow my staff to use wp-datatables for their needs, but you have to be an admin to create tables using that plug-in.
Hi,
I’m not sure what you mean with that:
features that tablepress doesn’t have such as filtering and pulling data from Google sheets.
TablePress of course has very many filtering features (see https://tablepress.org/modules/ for an overview) and does support automatically and periodically importing from a Google Sheet via the “Automatic Periodic Table Import” feature module.
Best wishes,
Tobias
Ah I think I bought wpdatatables a few years back when Tablepress didn’t have those features. Never came back to look to see if there had been changes. That’s my bad.
Hi,
ah, ok, no problem! Maybe this will be helpful! 🙂
Best wishes,
Tobias
