    Hi there!

I am getting an error message appearing on a form that is part of the header created in the Divi Builder. The error message only shows when you are in the visual builder and other forms on the site (not created in the Divi builder) are not showing an error message.

I have done some testing and it’s not a conflicting plugin. I have also contacted Divi support who have told me to talk to you. Can you help?

    The message is:

Heads up! WPForms has detected an issue with JavaScript on this page. JavaScript is required for this form to work properly, so this form may not work as expected. See our troubleshooting guide to learn more or contact support.
This message is only displayed to site administrators.

    Many thanks in advance!

    Hey @asnowden

    Thanks for reaching out!

This error might suggest that you have an optimization plugin whose optimization settings might be breaking assets from our plugin.

Would you mind temporarily turning off any caching plugins that you have installed and clearing the Divi cache and check if the issue will still be reproduced?

    Thanks! πŸ™‚

Hi @kmacharia – thanks for your response!

I have tried disabling the caching plugin, but I am still getting the problem. I have tried disabling all plugins apart from WPForms, but it’s still the same.

    Hey @asnowden

I’ve just made several successful submissions on the header form and the form that is located at the bottom of the page and both work as expected.

Can you still reproduce the issue on the page?

    Thanks!

    Hi @kmacharia,

Thank you for getting back to me. The message only appears when you are logged in and using the Divi Visual Builder. It is also only occurring on the forms created in the Divi Theme Builder area. Here’s a screenshot of the message we are seeing:

    Hey @asnowden

    Thanks for the additional details.

I’ve been able to reproduce the issue, in my particular case, the error is reported on forms that already exist on the page. Adding a new form using Divi on the page does not report the error. Can you confirm this from your end?

From my investigation, this issue only affects the form preview in the builder. The forms work as expected and we will be investigating this further to identify the cause.

    Thanks!

    Hi @kmacharia

I have tried inserting a new form and the same problem appears. Note that it is only when I use the Divi Builder (which I have used to create global headers and footers), not on the page builder itself. Forms created in the page builder are fine. There seems to be an issue with the way the Divi Builder and WPForms interact.

    Many thanks!

    Hi @asnowden

    Thanks for the additional details.

I’ve been able to reproduce the issue on my end and this has been reported to our development team for closer investigation.

As a side note, this alert does not seem to affect the functionality of the form in any way. The message should remain hidden but it seems that there is a conflict that is causing it to appear when editing using the Divi builder.

    I hope this helps!

    Hi @kmacharia

Thank you so much for the update. Will I be notified when the development team have been able to look at it?

You are right, it’s not causing an issue for the form functionality, although, it does look a bit alarming!
