Hi @supertrooper2,
Hard to say without more details. If you’re using a plugin that minifies JavaScript code then please check this FAQ, otherwise share your site’s URL and I’ll have a look.
Hi Hector
After reading the FAQ I have added the following to the exception lists of our caching plugin WP Optimize:
/wordpress-popular-posts/assets/js/
Unfortunately this doesn’t seem to have resolved the issue. The WPP views counting can be seen in the sidebar of our website under the title “Trending”:
https://focusingonwildlife.com/news/
Please advise how to get the WPP views counting to work again. It worked perfectly before uprading to WPP version 5.2.0.
Yep, just tested it and aside from having WP Optimize exclude WPP’s scripts from its minification process you’ll also need to disable the Process HTML option under Minify as it messes up WPP’s inline JSON script (for which I may have a workaround but for the time being please leave that option disabled.)
I have followed your instructions but the stats are still not increasing.
Just checked one of your articles via Incognito Mode and WPP was able to track my visit normally though:

Make sure to “hard-refresh” your browser at least once when visiting your website (ctrl+F5 on Windows, cmd+F5 on MacOS) so it updates its cache.
The stats in the tables popularpostssummary and popularpostsdata in phpMyAdmin are definitely increasing but the “Trending” stats in the sidebar are not changing.
Héctor
I followed your instructions and now it is working perfectly.
Thanks for the great support.
