Using the latest version of WPSSO (3.40.5-1) with wordpress 4.7.3, the “Edit Post” page has some problems:

    • The button to edit the permalink does not work
    • Post tags are not displayed
    • Cannot view “commonly used tags”

All other plugins were deactivated to verify this is a problem with WPSSO.

Hm. That’s interesting… Could you enable WP_DEBUG and let me know what error is being logged to the debug.log file? Here’s some info on enabling WP_DEBUG https://wpsso.com/codex/plugins/wpsso/installation/debugging-and-problem-solving/. It’s a fairly common thing to do, so you can find lots of info on Google as well. 😉

    Thanks,

    js.

Here is the only error, but it doesn’t come up with the edit post page:

wp-content/debug.log:[21-Mar-2017 14:05:07 UTC] PHP Notice: get_currentuserinfo is deprecated since version 4.5.0! Use wp_get_current_user() instead. in /home/othalan/seduc.in/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3829

That’s not from WPSSO (probably an older plugin or your theme), and anyway, it’s not something that would affect the functionality of WP…

You’re saying that clicking the “Edit” button between the Permalink: URL and the “Get Shortlink” button does nothing, correct? On both posts and pages, or just one? Is the button there? Does it ‘depress’, or it does nothing at all?

Oddly, everything seems to have started normally now that I have enabled debugging, and continues to work after disabling debugging. I hate problems that mysteriously solve themselves!

The “Edit” button was totally non-responsive when editing posts, no clue on pages as I can no longer reproduce the problem.

One more data point: The post edit controls also did not exist.

I don’t know the internals of how wordpress works, but thinking on this problem now I would guess there is a client-side problem or in a communication error. Perhaps my current low quality internet connection was creating problems? But that doesn’t explain why it was so clearly related to WPSSO being enabled!

If this happens again I will collect more information and post the details.
