Write permission issue

    After updating from 1.4.5 to 1.5.4, I’ve got a write permission issue on the backups dir

    Error message: WordPress does not have write access to ‘###/wordpress/wp-content/backups’. Please grant it write privileges before using this plugin.

    I’ve put a 777 permission on this directory and it doesn’t make any difference.
    Everything was working fine before this update. I’ve tried disabling and enabling to plugin, desinstall and reinstall it, it doesn’t make any difference. I run out of idea !!

    I actually had to temporarily change the permission on wp-content so that it could create the file wp-content/backupsindex.php that didn’t exist before.
    Everything is working fine again now.
