I’ve experienced that the special danish characters “æ,ø,å,Æ,Ø,Å” are shown as an “?” in the table after import. I then have to edit manually :-(.

I can’t exactly remeber when it turned to be so. But it worked well aaprox. six to eight months ago.

Saw this article but I’m uncertain that it’s related to this issue:

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

Can you please provide more details about how you import the table (i.e. what file format, source, etc.)?
Usually, this is related to issues with the character encoding, where the source file is not in UTF-8 encoding.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi,

thanks for the details! This might then be caused by using the Excel format. Unfortunately, that’s not very robust when used for the import.

Can you maybe try again with a CSV file that you export from Excel?

    Tobias

    Hi John,

that’s good to hear! I’m not sure that it ever worked with Excel as there have always been similar limitations.
I suggest to simply use CSV where possible, it’s the most reliable.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!
