Hi @jpujolcat
We tried to check the page you needed help with, and when viewing the page source, the og:image tag is showing as:
https://laconfederacio.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Parlament_de_Catalunya_-2021-04-14.jpeg
Just to clarify, is this the featured image from the original post or is this the updated featured image from the cloned post?
We tried cloning an existing post with Yoast Duplicate Post v4.1.2, editing the draft, and then updating the featured image. When we published it, and viewed the page source, we did see that the og:image tag was updated to the correct URL (which was the newly set featured image).
HI @mikes41720
this featured image (Parlament_de_Catalunya_-2021-04-14.jpeg) is from the original post (not from the cloned post)
I’m using Yoast Duplicate Post v4.1.2.
So… Is there any solution to solve this issue with last cloned posts?
Or shall I remove and republish posts manually?
Thanks
Hi @jpujolcat
So, just to clarify, after you cloned the original post, you then changed the featured image in the cloned post to a new one, but it’s still showing the old featured image https://laconfederacio.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Parlament_de_Catalunya_-2021-04-14.jpeg, correct?
When editing the cloned post in the backend, could you send us screenshots (you can use snipboard.io to upload the screenshot and share a link) of what you are currently seeing in the featured image meta box, as well as in the social tab of the Yoast SEO meta box?
When we did our test and cloned an existing post, when we changed the featured image, it reflected the change accordingly, so we were unable to reproduce the issue you are encountering.
Hi!
I tried to create a new post with a featured image and then clone it with a different image. And now is working fine.
But there is a post that If I clone it, and then change featured image, still appears the original one.
Let me talk with my client (I will ask her to repeat the process with a new post)
thanks
Hi @jpujolcat
It’s strange that it’s not working for one post, but it’s working for another cloned post. You may want to try experimenting with a different featured image (with different resolution and dimensions) and try to save the changes. Otherwise, we recommend performing a conflict check, just to ensure there are no conflicting plugins or themes that could be causing this – https://yoast.com/help/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts/
