I have just set up WP 3.1.2. (network enabled) on brancheforum.dk

Everywhere I can think of I have set up administrator e-mail addresses as [email protected]

Still some of the e-mails send when a new user or a new blog is created are sent from [email protected]

    Why?

Also: It seems like the email templates at http://brancheforum.dk/wp-admin/network/settings.php is not used, but some other standard (shorter) emails are sent instead

    What am I missing?

No plugins or templates has been installed or activated yet

That’s normal. The admin email is where WP sends emails TO when it wants to talk to you. The [email protected] is where it’s sent FROM. Nothing’s wrong 🙂

And it’s not network-specific. Single WP does this too, like for comment moderation notices.

According to wp-admin/network/settings.php, second input box called “Network Admin Email”, text below box is

“Registration and support emails will come from this address. An address such as support@wordpress is recommended.”

I have put in [email protected] at this place and therefor expects mails sent from my blogs to come from this address.

Is it the text that is wrong?

The real problem behind this is that Gmail/Postini spam filter catches nearly alle support and registration mails from my blogs. An my suspicion is that it might be because of the from address being [email protected]

No, the text is not wrong.

If your mail filter is blocking registration mails, put in a reverse DNS record.

Actually, I use gmail & Google apps for pretty near all my mail and the registration notices come in fine.

    I’m confused now.

What do you mean “the text is not wrong”?

Registration and support emails does NOT come from the email address ([email protected]) I have written in the input box above the text, as stated in the text but from [email protected].

How should this text be understood?

    Another item in this area:

It seem like my blogs doesn’t use the different templates for registration emails you can find on wp-admin/network/settings.php, but sends out some other (mainly shorter) emails

Should these templates be activated somewher else?

I have the same issue with a newly installed network.

I have set the Network Admin Email to support@domain, but registration emails come from wordpress@domain instead of support@domain.

The text undernath Network Admin Email says:
“Registration and support emails will come from this address. An address such as support@domain is recommended.”

What does this mean, if registration emails are supposed to come from wordpress@ ?
