Hi @joshuawissenbach,
The language of the PayPal buttons and interface is automatically decided by PayPal and depends on multiple factors like PayPal cookies on your device or the browser language configuration. The shop language is not relevant in this regard.
Can you please check if your Firefox is configured with de or de-de?

PayPal does not support just de and may fall back to English if there are no PayPal cookies with a German locale.
In a future update, there may be a setting to manually override the locale. But this is not a priority for the moment, so it may take a few more updates before something like this gets implemented.
Kind regards,
Niklas
Hi @joshuawissenbach
The next update in January will include a feature to override the locale: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce-paypal-payments/pull/1098
Then you can enforce German labels regardless of the buyers’ browser configuration.
So I will mark this resolved.
If you have any doubts or further questions, please do not hesitate to let us know.
Thanks!
Kind regards,
Niklas
Hi Niklas, I have the newest version of WooCommerce PayPal Payments installed, but still facing the same language problem on Firefox like joshuawissenbach 3 months ago. You wrote, the next update in January will include a feature to override the locale. Could you explain, how to get the PayPal popups in German instead of English using Firefox?
Thanks!
