Hi, your pop up plugin works beautifully except that the designated URL does not display in the popup window. It shows the URL of the WordPress page the link is on, not the external page. I’m using the Bulwark theme by Tansh Creative.

I hope we can solve this…

    Thanks!

The browser address bar of the popup window should always show the location of the page it is on. I have never heard of a case where this is not the case.

Please link to a publicly accessible page on your page where you are using the plugin where this issue can be seen.

Thank you for the fast response! I wasn’t concerned about the address bar, but the content of the popup window.

Here’s a link to a page that I was testing the plugin on. When I click on READ MORE I get a popup window with the same content as the parent page, not the page of the URL I embedded in the shortcode.

I misunderstood what was being asked. That is why it is important to post a link.

What is the full shortcode you are putting in to make the READ MORE link? If you are not using a shortcode how is the link being built?

Here is the shortcode as pasted into the page:

    [popup url="http://hbr.org/2011/12/get-ready-for-your-next-assignment/ar/1" height=“500" width=“700" scrollbars="yes" alt="popup”]READ MORE[/popup]

I neglected to add alt text – does that matter?

Alt text is optional, so that shouldn’t make any difference.

The quotemarks on the parameter values appear to be mismatched – some are curly quotes & some are straight. Try replacing all of the curly quotes in your your shortcode with straight quotes so all are straight quotes:

    [popup url="http://hbr.org/2011/12/get-ready-for-your-next-assignment/ar/1" height="500" width="700" scrollbars="yes" alt="popup"]READ MORE[/popup]

That fixed it – thank you so much! Your plugin is great, easy to use and an elegant solution to my problem.
