    Hi,
    I am using your plugin v 1.4.1 with pre-release update to 1.4.2. WC 3.0.5

When completing payment using PayPal account, customers are not taken to a custom “payment successful” page, as it is setup in PayPal account. It used to work fine, but now it is displaying a weird looking, relatively empty page.

I am not sure at point it stopped displaying the proper page since I don’t test the website on a daily basis.

The URL (domain changed) of the page is:
    mywebsite.com/wc-api/WC_Gateway_PayPal_Express_AngellEYE/?pp_action=get_express_checkout_details&token=EC-01D85153VD1600441&PayerID=RY7M2GKDJAXQQ

    It should be:
    mywebsite.com/payment-success

This is the text it gives:

Your order is complete – download your files

    Hi Goran,

Thank you for your purchase. Your purchased items are always available to you for download within your my account area of the My Website.

Any ideas of what is going on? Thank you very much!

Express Checkout would never use a return URL setup in the PayPal account profile, so I’m a little confused what you had working before vs. what’s setup now. Express Checkout provides the return URL in the API calls, and that return URL is a function in the plugin that processes some data and then either displays a final review page or skips straight to the order complete page depending on whether or not you have the “Skip Final Review” option enabled.

Please clarify exactly what you had before vs. what you’re doing now and I can try to help more.

    Thank you for your answer.

I originally set it up with normal PayPal option at a time when we were only accepting PayPal payments. Customers were getting redirected properly to our custom success page at that time.

When we began taking credit card payment directly on our website, PayPal tech support had me disable the regular paypal option and use the Express option instead. From what you are saying, it is likely that this weirdness started at that point and we had no idea.

So, where/ how can I set up the PayPal express to display what we want it to display on payment success page?

    Thank you so much!

Well, if you’re using WooCommerce, which you must be if you’re using this plugin, then you would need to build any custom success page into the WooCommerce system. You can use custom template files for this, but you’ll need somebody good at customizing WordPress to build that sort of thing for you.
