Hi @lestadt
Can you tell me what plugin you are using for the localization or translation?
Hi, the plugin is Transposh, http://transposh.org/
Hi, I guess your team must be very busy. If you tell me how to implement solution 1 or solution 2 i can solve it myself, tell me what to change and i do.
Hi @lestadt
Can you please try some other plugin? That plugin hasn’t been updated since last 2 years.
The translation plugin works perfectly, it was last updated on October 7 of this year, less than a month ago, what happens is that for some time is not in the wordpress repository, so I sent you a link to your main page, if you had entered there you would have seen that the plugin had a recent update. Is it supposed that if I use another translation plugin will solve the problem? I still have no clear answer, how do I implement solution 1 or solution 2?
Hi @lestadt
I understand your point of view.
Can you at least give a try to other multilingual plugins and see which one works?
We want to make our plugin compatible with all the multilingual plugins out there but we need the support of the audience in doing that.
According to your recommendation I did several tests in another of my sites. In this other site I did not have any translation plugin nor did I have your amp complement. Install your plugin and several translation plugins. Only one showed correctly and was this TranslatePress – Multilingual, with this plugin rel = “amphtml” was shown correctly, with the other plugins that probe the original problem of this thread is shown. There is a detail, I do not know if it is important, in this site I did the tests I use SEO by SQUIRRLY, and in my other sites I use Yoast, I do not know if that has something to do. Although with this plugin translation is not shown the problem described I can not use it in my sites, because apart from having to configure and translate all my site, this plugin does not offer everything that offers me for free in which I use (Transposh) ….. maybe the problem is that your plugin collects Yoast Seo’s rel = canonical, maybe that’s causing the problem. As you understand the rel = canonical of the translated version is the url of the original version, if your plugin is using this same parameter to create the rel = “amphtml” that would explain the problem. What else do you suggest?
Hello, sorry for my insistence but the problem that I describe is affecting the SEO of my site and I need to solve it. I asked for two solutions to implement them and you did not give me an answer for that.
I do not know what parameters your plugin uses to create the rel = “amphtml”, if you used this $ _SERVER [‘REQUEST_URI’] I think it would be created correctly. I’m still waiting for any suggestions, I’m not asking you to update your plugin, that your team will do when it deems necessary, what I’m asking for now is that you suggest something to solve the problem, or the solution number one or the solution number two or anything else that helps me.
I’m also a user of Transposh with the same problem. Google Webmaster Tools is already sending me notes about this problem.
The author of the plugin does not respond, apparently does not know how to solve it or not interested, however the final solution has been very simple, uninstall AMP from my site and everything is solved. This situation affected the SEO of my site negatively, Google interpreted all this as if I was cheating my visitors, increased the bounce rate, visitors were reduced and the permanence of my site went from 6-5 minutes to last only an average of 14 seconds per visitor. I put a lot of effort to the fact that the AMP version of my site worked correctly but unfortunately it has been a bad experience.
