Have tried ftp ing the zip file direct to
./wp-content/plugins/wow-slider-wordpress-image-slider-plugin/import/
but am getting the same Wrong Slider message
I have the same error and I have all site with permission 777
Any ideas please?

I’ve just paid for the full version as well. Getting the same “wrong Slider” error.
Have Googled this error and it has been around for at least two years. So they have not been able to fix it. Emailed their support yesterday but not received a reply. Tried all the remedies.

I have tried it on two different sites which are hosted by different Companies, Zen and Wesh, they all use the latest software.
I will create a web page warning people about the wow slider plugin, too many people have wasted their money on this slider software.

If this plug in has allegedly had 419582 downloads and was last updated 26/1/15 then surely somebody has faith in it!!
And why does it work perfectly in the free version but not once the developers have been paid, when the only difference in the software is, as far as I can see, the removal of the watermark.
And I have now removed the Paid For Version and reinstated the Free Version and low and behold, I am getting the same ‘Wrong Slider’ Message.

For what its worth it does work but I only started getting this problem when I updated to Version 7.5 of wowslider. Plugin is Version 7.4 with latest updates ( as of 26-01-15)
I reverted back to Version 7.4 of wowslider and everything works ok again.
I am using the import from folder method.
Convinced there is a problem with the zip file creation in Version 7.5 so
I will also email wowslider support but won’t hold my breath based on past experience.

If wowslider support do actually read this forum and agree with the comments made by haggismcb then perhaps they should reinstate Version 7.4 until the problem can be fixed

It’s been two days since I emailed their support team. NO REPLY as yet.
I’ve purchased another slider as I had a deadline to meet. It cost round $18 for single licence for personal use, and $80 or so for single licence if you are selling it on. Quite pricey, but it is far superior and is all programmed from within WordPress, I would highly recommend it. This is the link

Two years ago someone posted a complaint about the Wow slider giving the “wrong slider” error, and they recommended this slider as a superior alternative.
I get the new version 7.6 from http://wowslider.com but this version is free and I can’t register.
I regenerate the file with this version and I can upload slider into wordpress but the image have watermarket “wowslider”
