Regarding the issue in this topic,
We worked on MEC and we fixed it so we want you to kindly update MEC to its latest version (5.16.2) and then try again.

Note: May you need to update your events one by one.
In case the issue persists, just let us know.

Still the same problem with the update. I update and when I reload the plugin page MEC is back to “There is a new version of Modern Events Calendar available. View version 5.16.2 details”.

Maybe other plugins or the theme influenced it.
Also, maybe you change the MEC folder name on /wp-content/plugins/.
For troubleshooting, deactivate all your plugins and let the MEC remain active only, set your theme on default, then reload the page, if the issue was solved, then activate your plugins one by one and your theme, refresh your page and check to see which plugin is causing the issue.
