Hi, I noticed after I changed a new featured image of a post, when I cleared WPP’s thumbnails cache and let it regenerated, the new generated thumbnail is still the old featured image. This issue only happen when I choose webp as the thumbnail format. If I choose original format, the new generated thumbnail is always correct. Please advise, thanks.

    Hey @whitehumorous,

I think that could be a browser cache thing since the filename is always the same one.

I’ll look into this as soon as I can though (not today, it’s been a long day) just to make sure that it’s not a bug so thanks for reporting.

After clearing browser cache, the thumbnail become partially correct. Some of the sizes are correct, some are still showing old featured image.

    Hey @whitehumorous,

Could you please share your site’s URL so I can have a look?

    Hi,

    Post link –> URL

When you visit the homepage, you will see the post in WPP list –> Screenshot

    Size 300×158 –> https://www.moretify.com/wp-content/uploads/wordpress-popular-posts/279868-featured-300×[email protected]

    Size 150×79 –> https://www.moretify.com/wp-content/uploads/wordpress-popular-posts/279868-featured-150×[email protected]

Size 300×158 is showing latest featured image, but size 150×79 is still showing old featured image.

    Thanks!

I had a look at your website and checked your popular posts list, and I couldn’t find the 279868-featured-150×[email protected] image that you mentioned.

This is the actual IMG tag for that particular popular post:

There’s no 279868-featured-150×[email protected] in there.

I also checked all of the image sizes in that IMG tag and they all look the same here.

    Hi,

My bad, I didn’t explained in detailed in my previous message. I temporarily add another WPP list at the homepage side bar so that you can see the difference when you visit the homepage, please refer to the screenshot. The post pointed by red arrows are the same post, but thumbnail in different sizes, when you click, they are linked to the same post. You should see they are having different thumbnail, the smaller one is still generated with the old featured image, the bigger size one is correct.

Yeah, that seems to be a browser cache issue on your end.

On my browser both images look exactly the same.
