last question. i guess it seems that i want to copy these guys… but i already have my blog, i just wanted to figure out how he made his pages so custom. like there are pictures in boxes, surrounded a box. it just looks nice. is this a custom theme or does he do it in another HTML editor and just copy and paste. PLEASE HELP.. thanks

Then its pretty easy to do.
Just use custom fields and style around them.

Create some custom fields (a thumbnail image would be a good idea) and then style around that (float that image left to get the same effect as his). Each post (aka tutorial) would have its own custom field with own image attached.
Another way of achieving the same result is using excerpt i guess but to me thats less flexible.
