Same here moved to version 7.0 and no XML sitemaps in menu. Now gone to version 7.0.1 but still no XML sitemap feature in SEO menu.
The sitemap menu item has been removed. The sitemap toggle has been moved to SEO -> General -> Features which also includes a link to the sitemap if you click on the question mark.
You can determine what is in the sitemap by going to SEO -> Search Appearance. If you decide a certain post type shouldn’t be in the search results, it’s removed from the sitemap.
You can read more about the release of 7.0 here: https://yoast.com/yoast-seo-7-0/
Yes, I just found the new configuration. But post types that were deactivated have been activated automatically, I had to deactivate them manually
Thanks for explaining and the read more link. Found it now.
Hello,
I used the XML sitemap to hide certain pages from Google – ones I don’t want indexed, but still want accessible.
I used to click on ‘Excluded Posts’ and add the post or page ID in a comma separated list.
Is that still possible with this new release? Thanks!
@rubyslipper. That’s not possible anymore. But a better way to do that is to simply put those pages to noindex in the advanced tab of the Yoast metabox. That way it will automatically get excluded from the sitemap as well.
Read more about how to do that in this article: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-do-i-noindex-urls/#single
Thank you @omarreiss! I have already noindexed nofollowed the pages, and just didn’t know if I needed to do anything else. I thought I was going crazy when I couldn’t find that XML link! Thanks again!
