Hello @sa5awii92,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
This plugin generates a virtual sitemap ( i.e. create a sitemap when you request).
If you disable the plugin then we are not able to generate a sitemap for you. If you still see the URL of our sitemap may be because of the robots.txt file’s sitemap and you also need to submit the sitemap URL back to Google if Yoast has generated a new one.
Thank you for your reply.
The plugin creates this sitemap “https://my-domain.com/sitemap.xml” so when I disable the plugin and visit that URL it still exists and like the plugin still working.
@sa5awii92 That might be because of some other plugin. Once you disabled our plugin, the sitemap cannot be generated by us anymore. Can you please double-check any other plugins which you have enabled which might be generating the sitemap on the same location? Thanks.
I disabled all other plugins and still showing, I also used the Health site plugin and used the default theme to check it and the results are the same.
I cleared all the caches for the domain and my PC.
I used the Yoast plugin and I disabled it too.
I tried all these methods and no improvement,
@sa5awii92 I just tried hitting the sitemap URL and it redirected me to the homepage, so I believe the issue must have been resolved now. Thanks.
Could you just tell me the URL you have tested?
We have checked with this (https://my-domain.com/sitemap.xml) URL.
This is not my main website.
This is my sitemap
https://dealinsi.com/sitemap.xml
We have checked the URL given by you and seems like it’s redirecting us to this (https://dealinsi.com/sitemap_index.xml) URL.
When I disable it, it’s still redirecting.
And I tested the URL at https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/validate-xml-sitemap.html
And getting erros
@sa5awii92 then it is related to the other vendor plugin you are using. Can you please report the issue over that plugin’s support?
This plugin generates this URL https://dealinsi.com/sitemap.xml
And the other plugin generates this URL https://dealinsi.com/sitemap_index.xml
When I disabled your plugin, the sitemap URL still working and redirecting. So how come it’s not related to this plugin?!!!!
I already contacted the other plugin support
@sa5awii92 I think this must be from Yoast SEO that if you are trying alternate sitemap XML paths, it will redirect to sitemap_index.xml URL which is theirs. Even WordPress default sitemap redirects to Yoast SEO generated sitemap.
If you have totally turned off our plugin then our code cannot be executed. Thanks.
