It doesn’t even disable emoji’s per se either. I need to document that better. It just disables the extra JS bloat added to support emoji’s in older browsers.

Yeah, I was confused about that at first. But now I realize, as per another one of our discussions, that support for utf8mb4 enables both emojis and Han characters. But I think the objection isn’t to utf8mb4 but to the javascript bloat, as you say, so to me, this plugin is still a perfect solution π Thanks again!
Yeah, I don’t think anyone has a problem with utf8mb4. That change makes sense.
