caused styles to go missing on composite pages
These composite pages wouldn’t have been displayed using the Anywhere Elementor plugin shortcode perhaps? If this is the case, then update to the latest AE, 0.4, released this afternoon.
A viewer of my tutorial on the subject, Elementor with Anywhere Elementor commented that he was getting the same as you after the update; styles missing. I did some testing and sure enough, 1.0.9 was the last version that worked with AE.
I contacted Anand, the AE dev about this and once again, with his amazing support, issued an update that resolved the matter 🙂
Cheers!

No I don’t have that plugin installed. Tried to update to 1.1.5 but it broke every page’s CSS and caused missing resource errors even though the resources, the post’s CSS generated by Elementor, were in the uploads folder.
Were there any other changes besides the ones listed in the update log?

I wonder if it is memory related somehow. I had a site recently that was running with a whopping memory size of 40Mb and after updating Elementor to 1.1.5 it no longer would load the editor (front end was loading), nor the Elementor logo screen loader, just a blank white screen.
I upped the memory to 128Mb and problem gone. It may help to enabling the debug log in wp-config.php to see what/if errors appear. There might be a big clue to the problem.
For example, I had:
18-Jan-2017 06:37:36 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 183327 bytes) in /var/www/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 2996
https://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP
Very descriptive error even with a link on how to address the problem.
Also, have you looked at the browser console and see any document or javascript errors?
Thanks Philip for describing the memory issue. It was exactly the issue I was experiencing!

No memory issue for me.
It seems updating it breaks the link between the styles and their pages.
Errors were resources errors, i.e. failed to load resource from server.
