Hi! I’ve noticed a small bug in the recent Yoast updates that I haven’t been able to fix. For example, the Yet Another Stars Rating plugin has broken with the latest Yoast updates.

Has anyone had a similar experience and found a solution?

Please do not use short links again anywhere on this site. That has been abused in the past and are expanded when found. I have expanded yours.

Please be aware that the link “The page I need help with:” cannot be seen by search engines and is only visible to users logged into the support forums.

Ok got it, so the question still open.

Can you share a screenshot that provides more information on what is specifically broken? What you have described is quite vague. Can you also provide steps to replicate this? Thank you.

    Yes no problem, thanks.

The Yoast plugin has always worked well, but with the latest updates, it has broken the “Yet Another Stars Rating” plugin.

There must be something wrong with a script that’s causing Yoast to delete the star ratings for articles (the stars are generated by a script and are dynamic).

I’ve tried a few things, but haven’t had much luck. Do you think there’s anything you can do from within Yoast?

This is the same old issue brought up a couple months ago. WP 6.9.1 did not fix it and Yoast is the only plugin that when deactivated things go back to as intended.

    Hi all,

Thanks for the comments. Please note that this layout issue is not an issue related to the Yoast SEO plugin. A trac ticket for WordPress core has been created during the release of WP 6.9 and they aimed to release a fix in 6.9.1. However, that didn’t fix the issue across all affected websites, and a bug fix version, 6.9.2, is scheduled to address it. You can read more here and here.

In the meantime, the core committer who followed the ticket that probably introduced the problem has shared some instructions:

As a workaround for sites experiencing this issue, I’ve just published a small single-file plugin that allows you to remain on 6.9 but opt out of loading separate core block styles. Naturally, the plugin is called Load Combined Core Block Assets.

Our suggestion is to install the Load Combined Core Block Assets plugin while waiting for WordPress 6.9.2.
